The Albanian Democratic Party is bracing for a major protest on Saturday, with the main aim to force the government implement the electronic voting and counting system in the upcoming general elections.

A day before the planned protest, Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, met with the ally parties in capital Tirana and called on police to be careful and not provoke protests.

“I call to the police to not fall pray to any political manipulation, to not provoke, otherwise will face the consequences,” Basha warned.

But, Basha said he is confident that Saturday will be “a giant feast of democracy”.
