Southeast Albania was hit by an 4.3 on Richter scale earthquake, on Saturday early morning. According to the Institute of Seismology, its epicenter was 9 kilometers north of Erseka city. According to the experts, because of its location, Albania is among the countries with the highest seismic risk in Europe.

“Albania is part of the group with seismic activities. Seismic activity is often high. We are part of the countries with the highest seismic risk in Europe”,

 Albanian seismologist says.

Although some American scientists have estimated Albanian at a 10% high risk rate for Europe, an Albanian Seismologist said that after periods of increased earthquake activity since the 1980s, Albania is in the period of activity low earthquakes. Which means that the country records almost every day microearthquakes, which are not dangerous./tvklan.al
