Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has commented on the increased number of tourists killed last season on the shores of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts that wound up Albania.

According to him, only during this season in Albania were killed 28 tourists, or 5 times more than on all the coasts of Europe.

Through  a “Facebook” post, he warns that these developments damage Albanian reputation of tourism and the country becomes the biggest water’s tragedy of tourists from all over the world.

“Every local tourist or vacationer gives their own expenses as a tax, hundreds and thousands of ALL in the state budget during their vacation stay. While this government and local authorities have not spent even not a single penny for their protection and security from water hazards. In addition, the government, with the mafia industry, the boom that has favored, has increased the risk of the tourists life in the waters of our coasts.

These developments damage the country’s reputation and Albania becomes the land of water tragedies”.
