Albanian police arrested Tuesday four people accused of robbing $ 3.2 million last week near the Tirana International Airport, when a second level bank was transporting cash.

The theft occurred on Thursday and police is searching for the remaining two, accused to be involved in the robbery.

Tirana’s police chief Ervin Hodaj said police has evidence that the same group was involved in other robberies that happened before in Albania, including the December 2015 case, when millions of dollars were robbed in a similar way.

Hodaj said police had seized an amount of money that proved the group had robbed at least two banks.

One of those arrested has previously worked for security companies that transport cash for Banks, while two others have served in Albanian Army for years, and even take part in NATO’s operations in Afghanistan. /tvklan.al
