Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that asylum seekers from Albania to France have reached the double level of all other countries taken together and that Paris is heading towards the revoking of visas for the country.

Through a Facebook post he stated that asylum seekers from Albania to France reached 7256 in January-August, twice as many other countries as Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, Haiti counted together and  media say the French authorities see the visas revoking as the only solution.

Albanians travel visa-free to Schengen countries since 2011 but recently there has been an increased concern about the risk of visa liberalization being removed following the large number of Albanian asylum seekers in European Union countries. /tvklan.al
