A suspicious suitcase near the US Embassy alerted the Tirana Police today. Blue uniforms surrounded the area at Elbasani Street and evacuated residents and employees of nearby offices.
About 45 minutes after the alarm was given, police jets made a controlled burst of the baggage, which turned out to be empty and had no dangerous element.
It is suspected that the luggage may have been forgotten by any person. Meanwhile, the images of nearby business security cameras, as well as the US embassy cameras located on the wall near the site where the suspicious facility was located, will be analyzed.
This situation created chaos in traffic on Elbasani Street. For a few minutes, the traffic of vehicles and pedestrians in that area was blocked, to resume after a few moments.
