A gang of 31 people was destroyed by Greek police during a massive action. All members are arrested, of whom 27 are Albanians, two Greeks, one Bulgarian and one Romanian.

This gang robbed and stole at Athens metro stations, buses and trains over the past 10 years. In total, 700 cases of theft and 500 stolen pieces were found, but Greek police say the number of thefts can reach up to 4,000 because of the criminal activity that began many years ago. The criminal group functioned in such a way that it was not revealed.

Greek investigators say members of this gang are well acquainted with the whereabouts of theft. They ensured that in the area where they would operate, there would be no security cameras or radios to extend to the point where they were looting. In one case, this group  also committed theft during the Olympics – Panathinaikos football match. The names of the arrested Albanians have not been disclosed. Athens police suspect that part of the gang is another 18 people who are free./tvklan.al
