An explosion hit Wednesday a military base at the port city of Durres, injuring two people, including a sergeant at the Air Force.
Albanian General Staff office said in a statement that the explosion at the Porto Romano military base happened at 15:00 local time, during the cleaning of the territory.
A sergeant at the Air Force and civil employee were injured and rushed to the hospital.
The Police of Durres said that those injured were burning grass at within base’s territory when the explosion took place. It remains unknown what caused the explosion.
The Army said the injures were in very good health condition and will leave the hospital very soon./tvklan.al
