France and Albania, two NATO allies, signed Tuesday a statement of strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as agreements for cooperation in the field of defence and security.

The statement was signed by respective foreing ministers in the presence of French PM Bernard Cazeneuve and Albanian PM Edi Rama, in Paris.

Cazeneuve and Rama confirmed the the special relationship between Albania and France as well as the importance of long-term cooperation between the two countries in the field of rule of law, protection and security bilaterally, regionally and beyond.

Rama thanked France for the support in the in the process of European integration of our country, as well as for France’s increased attention and commitment to the progress of regional processes and projects.

On the other hand, French PM praised the progress of the country and of reforms in the field of rule of law, and the successful efforts in the fight against corruption and organized crime.

Cazeneuve also thanked the Albanian counterpart for Albania’s’ cooperation with French authorities in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

France noted also the special role of Albania in the democratic stability in the region./tvklan.al
