Meta honored with the award “Order of Independence”

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, was honored during a solemn ceremony held at the headquarters of the Kosovo Presidency with the Top Order “Order of Independence” with the motivation: “For High Contribution to the Independence of Kosovo”.

After receiving the award from the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the Albanian President Meta in his speech noted that the visit to Kosovo as President of the Republic is an extraordinary pleasure.

“This decoration is a special surprise, but I take it as an appreciation for everything that the citizens of Albania have done in support of freedom and independence of Kosovo. And at the same time accepting this decoration with many responsibilities, I want to pledge here for further engagement in strengthening the independence, increasing its international recognition and realizing the aspiration of the European perspective, entirely tangible to it and the entire region, because the prospect Kosovo’s European Union is very important for the future of our region.”/
