The former Secretary General in Kosovo Interior Ministry, Driton Gashi, was appointed Thursday as the new Director of Kosovo Intelligence Agency.

 The news was announced with a statement published on the official website of Kosovo Presidency.

“The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, together with the Prime Minister of the country, Isa Mustafa have appointed the new Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA). Based on Article 84 (21) and Article 94 (8) of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, and Article 5 (3 and 5) of Law No. 03/L-063 on the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, President Thaçi and Prime Minister Mustafa, took the decision to appoint Mr. Driton Gashi, Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency,” the statement said.

Gashi, who was born in 1977 in Kosovo capital Prishtina, has served for many years as an UNDP consultat in compiling strategies against human traficcikgn./tvklan.al
