Opposition leader Lulzim Basha warned Monday that the country  would not return to normality until the government resigns in favor of a caretaker government.

“We are here to tell Rama that the only way to return the normality in the country is your resignation for a caretaker government. There is and there will be no other way,” Basha said, speaking at the “Liberty tent” in front of the Prime Ministry building, where opposition supporters are staying 7/24 since Feb, 18.

Basha said that the free and fair elections are threatened by the organized crime and drugs, protected by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“Today freedom is threatened by a Prime Minister who violates the constitution to protect the criminals he brought to power,” Basha said.

“We will not accept that free and fair elections to fall pray of a government that has decided to rig them through corruption and drug’s money,” he said.

Albania is scheduled to hold the new general elections in June, 18, with the opposition insisting that only with the implementation of the electronic voting system by a caretaker government the process can be guaranteed. The government in the other hand says that there is no time to implement the system. /tvklan.al
