President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, received today in a special meeting, the Minister of Interior of the Italian Republic, Marco Minniti.

While praising the strategic partnership between the two countries, President Meta focused specifically on long and intensive cooperation on security issues and the fight against organized crime and terrorism.

In a statement distributed by the head of state press reports, both interlocutors welcomed concrete results and effective coordination between law enforcement agencies in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking and shared the same view that in this fight it is very important not to be untouchable and to hit the high levels of crime.

President Meta praised the decisive role of Italy and Italian Antimafia in the fight against organized crime and guaranteeing a safer future on both Adriatic coasts, and stressed that Albania is today at a very important moment for building a healthy and sustainable economy, away from criminal sources.

Minister of Interior Minniti considered cooperation between the agencies of the two countries important and expressed his commitment to continue Italian support in the strengthening of the anti-trafficking drug power as well as the investigative capacities./tvklan.al
