Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama discussed Friday the implementation of judicial reform and EU integration process with  German FM Sigmar Gabriel.

Gabriel thanked Rama for the undertaken reform and “for your personal engagement and stance on calming the conflicts in neighboring countries.” The statement comes at a time when Macedonia has failed to form the new government follwoing last year’s snap elections. President Ivanov has refused to give the mandate to social-democrat leader Zoran Zaev, who has formed the majority in the parliament with Albanian parties.

Rama, who is in visiting Germany on the invitation of “Friedrich Ebert” foundation, thanked Germany for the support, especially on judicial reform.

Judicial reform remains EU’s key request before starting the accession negotiations with Albania, a country aspiring to join the European Union. /tvklan.al
