Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Wednesday the Socialist Party will vote against the arrest of the deputy and former Minister Saimir Tahiri, but where his last battle to discredit the truth will continue outside the forums and the majority parliamentary group.
“We are not here to defend the truth about Saimir Tahiri, but to do the great task to governing Albania. Saimir will be until the end of this process a free man and a free MP to do his own battle just as he thinks, outside the party forums and outside the PS Parliamentary Group. We will expect justice to tell us the truth. If the Prosecution brings evidence, not papers, evidence … and comes with facts, which according to it open the path for the MP’s arrest, not to close the door, the Mandate Commission may be reimbursed once more and as we raise our hand without any reserve on Wednesday against the arrest, not to protect Tahiri, but law and justice, will raise our hand even for the arrest, if the Prosecution will bring evidence, “
Rama said, adding that Tahiri would be welcome in the party after he get released from these charges.
Additionally, the Parliamentary Group decided that MP Saimir Tahiri should be removed from offices in the Socialist Party./tvklan.al
