Former Minister of Interior Saimir Tahiri, has appealed the “house arrest” security measure given during the investigation against him. The court hearing is scheduled to take place on May 28th, ABC News reports.

Tahiri has been under “house arrest” since 12 May, when the Court for Serious Crimes gave this security measure. While on May 15, Tahiri appeared at the Court to get to know the verdict.

The Prosecution for Serious Crimes seeks “imprisonment” for Saimir Tahiri and has appealed the “house arrest” measure. According to the prosecution, there are suspicions that the Habilaj brothers in Vlora were assisted by Saimir Tahiri on their criminal activity of drug smuggling.
