On the eve of the decision to open negotiations, the European Commission has decided to allocate another  61.2m euro to Albania. The decision was taken in Brussels on 21 September, along with funds for other Western Balkan countries. Regarding Justice Reform, the European Union has offered at this stage € 7.5 million, part of the pre-accession instrument.

In total for the years 2014-2020, the amount planned for Albania under the pre-accession assistance IPA 2 program amounts to 649.4 million Euros.

Of the countries in the region more EU funding for the remaining months of 2017 is Serbia with 138.2 million euro, while Kosovo will benefit 25 million euro and Montenegro will receive the following 20 million euro.

Funds for Albania will aim, as in previous years, on reforming public administration, gender equality, tourism development and local investment./tvklan.al
