Greece’s Foreign Ministry has reacted about the Greek minority in Himara. Through an official announcement, Greece’s MFA says Albanian authorities have taken a surprising decision to continue  demolishing Greek minority housing in Himara.

In its reaction, Greek Foreign Ministry also stated recent political developments in the country that relate the suspected Saimir Tahiri in drug trafficking.

“It is worrying the obvious link between organized crime and the political scene in Albania, as is the recent arrests of the head of a drug trafficking network, where a former senior official of Edi Rama’s first government appears.

Just as disturbing is the fact that the Albanian government continues to destroy the properties of the Greek minority in Himara.

Yesterday’s decision by the Albanian authorities confirms that the newly adopted minority law is a step backwards for Albania’s main minority. Many people interpret this action as an act that seeks to mislead public opinion from the recent political issue of drugs trafficking in Albania,”
