In Albania, there has been criticism recently regarding US Embassy about holding double standpoints about justice reform.

In his response to VOA’s interest in these charges, Ambassador Donald Lu through a statement emphasizes that Albanian politicians have to stop their complaints and get into work. According to the ambassador, instead of politicians blaming foreigners, The United States or the European Union, for the problems they have created themselves, it would be good to have a political dialogue with each other and work together to implement justice reform, including meeting with members of the High Council of Prosecutors and the High Council of the Judiciary.

Ambassador Lu calls on politicians to work together to resolve disagreements over the Chief Prosecutor, to support good laws and to provide resources for the police and prosecution to seize the heads of organized crime./
