Meta in Baku, meets with the President of Azerbaijan

The President of the Republic attended today the opening ceremony of the 6^th Baku Forum with the topic

“Closing the gaps for the creation of a comprehensive society”

, attended by a number of state leaders and governments, as well as a large number of policy-makers and academics.

On this occasion, President Meta was received in a special meeting by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

President Meta praised the progress for strengthening excellent bilateral political relations and expressed gratitude for the support that President Aliyev and Azerbaijan have provided for the realization of the TAP gas project and the gasification process in Albania.  

In particular, President Meta praised the support that President Aliyev for the Ionian Adriatic Pipeline project, which will have a major regional impact.

President Meta underlined the need to put bilateral co-operation not only in the field of energy but also in other areas such as trade, tourism, education, culture and others.

President Aliyev thanked President Meta for the invitation to visit Albania and promised to visit the country as soon as possible./tvklan.al
