Opposition has decided to boycott Monday’s parliamentary session as a form of protest for the ratification of bill on theater’s demolition.

The official request submitted on Friday by opposition representatives was reviewed by the Secretariat for Procedures and Voting composed of two Socialist MPs Alket Hyseni and Adnor Shameti and Democrat Enkelejd Alibeaj. With the Socialists’ vote it was decided that the vote should be valid as no irregularities were found.

The Secretariat decided that voting that paves the way to the demolition of the National Theater building and the construction of a new Theater, which last week passed to the assembly with 75 votes in favor, was regular.

The opposition said the result was manipulated, as SMI MP Vangjel Tavo turns out to have voted pro, though he was not present in the session. The DP and the SMI sought to cancel the vote and re-vote this law in parliament./tvklan.al
