Prime Minister Edi Rama, has made strong accusations to the leaders and former police directors of the country, for whom he said that some of them have collaborated with drug traffickers or have been involved in criminal activity.

Speaking at the 105th anniversary of the State Police activity, the Premier stressed that Police Vetting would enable the discharge of all incriminated police officers and executives.

“During 2017, Albanian police seized 40 million Euros of criminal assets from criminal organizations. All this does not mean that police leaders are not involved in criminal activity with drug traffickers. All this does not mean that purges are a completed process. We are absolutely certain that essential cleansing is vital and we will achieve it with full success.

 T

herefore, within the first 100 days of this mandate, we have completed the drafting of the legal basis for implementing the Police Vetting. Vetting will enable the discharge of all executives and practitioners involved in criminal activity or unjustified police sources accumulated in these years. This will be the basis of our second mandate”./
