The German government explains that there is no condition for Albania to deal with the issue of emigrants from the countries of the east. German State Minister for European Affairs Michael Roth confirms after a meeting with Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati.
“There is no kind of condition that we have set for Albania on the issue of immigrants”.
The minister coming from the ranks of German Social Democrats who are in the coalition with Merkel’s Christian Democrats praised the pace of Justice Reform by considering Vetting as a success.
What is worrying about Albanian politics is actually filling vacancies with the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court for which it has proposed a change in the law on young magistrates. The draft does not yet have the opposition’s consensus, but the German minister calls for accountability.
“The fact that so far judges and prosecutors are disconnected from the system shows that people have realized that the government is firm. These reforms must continue. We need to have new people to fill those positions, because a non-functioning judicial system affects other areas of life. And this process requires a great deal of awareness on the part of the government, but also by the opposition. “
The ministers said another issue of focus was the regional relations, where negotiations took place with Greece. Minister Bushati speaks of a strategy against this process, not leaving aside the arrows to the opposition.
