Tirana commemorates today the 105th anniversary of Independence of Albania, when Ismail Qemali and other leaders from all Albanian settlements raised the flag declaring Albania a sovereign and independent state.

The Deputy Mayor of Tirana, Andi Seferi, accompanied by the Prefect of Tirana, Suzana Jahollari, the head of the Regional Council, Aldrin Dalipi, members of the Tirana Municipal Council, representatives of religious communities, and citizens of Tirana, placed wreaths and flowers at the Independence Monument.

On the occasion of the National Holiday, the capital is adorned as ever with red and black flags, where the main streets and institutions are covered by national symbols.

Since the early morning, Mayor Veliaj congratulated the Albanians on the Flag Day, and invited them to join the numerous activities organized by the Municipality of Tirana on this occasion for all age groups.

“Tirana adorned like never before for the November Holidays. The weather is nice, along with your family join us in the square today”, Veliaj writes. Meanwhile, at 11:00, the Mayor of Tirana will attend the flag raising ceremony to be organized in “Skanderbeg Square”./tvklan.al
