Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, received this afternoon the OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger. Xhafaj thanked for the contribution and important role of the OSCE and especially the role of the OSCE Presence in Albania, for the support given to judicial reform and the drafting of the Priority Policies in the Field of Order and Security.

Minister Xhafaj summarized the priorities and concrete results of the Ministry of Interior in the fight against organized crime, Vetting in the State Police, the “Power of Law” operation, as well as achievements in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

He also praised his contribution in the fight against human beings trafficking, illegal migration and asylum seekers.

Additionally, Minister Xhafaj praised the active role of the OSCE Presence in the field of Community Policing.

On the other hand, the OSCE Secretary General expressed maximum appreciation for the achievements so far and also gave the highest estimates for the constructive cooperation of the Ministry of Interior with international partners on common challenges.

He focused on the importance of the philosophy of preventing criminality through the comprehensiveness of the society.
