Albania and Kosovo congratulated the re-election of Donald Tusk, as the European Council president of the EU.
Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement it wishes President Tusk further successes in facing common European and global challenges.
“President Tusk is a constant supporter of the enlargement policy of the EU and of the advancement of our country in the European integration process, thus his re-election on this Chair is good news for Albanian and the region,” it said.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci also congratulated Tusk on the occasion. “Congratulations to the European Council President Donald Tusk. I thank you for your support for Western Balkans and I am looking forward to continue cooperation in the future,” Thaci wrote in a twitter post.
Donald Tusk was re-elected Wednesday for another to and half year term at the top of European Council. Only his country, Poland vote against him, with ther 27 European Union leaders voting in favor. /tvklan.al
