Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha said on Thursday that the opposition would not allow Prime Minister Edi Rama to nominate the successor of Prosecutor General Adriatik Llalla.

“We will firmly object the nomination of a new prosecutor general by Premier Rama. The man who openly attacked the prosecutors that opened an inquiry on his former-Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, can’t be given the right to do so. New prosecutor general nomination by Tahiri and Durrësi mayor Vangjush Dako friends would mean the end of the inquiring process. Furthermore, this way of doing is totally in violation of the country’s constitution on view of the fact that even Tahiri would be given the right to vote”,

Basha said.

Opposition’s leader said that Tahiri’s freedom, the criminal detonation by the Interior Ministry of yesterday’s action for the arrest of three former senior police directors, is a fact that indicates that Edi Rama was placed in the defense of the crime.

He further accused the Prime Minister of pressure to prevent any investigation against Tahiri, Dako, Habilaj and others./tvklan.al
