Democrat leader Lulzim Basha has required the arrest of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, one day after the arrest of Moisi Habilaj in Italy, as a member of an organization which has trafficked 3.5 tons of cannabis and arms from Albania to Italy.

Through a statement for the media, from the DP headquarters, Basha emphasized that Prime Minister Rama has facts that prove the implication of former Minister Tahiri in drug trafficking.

“Albania’s strategic partners have provided to Premier Rama incontestable materials related to Tahiri’s role in the drugs trafficking from Albania to Italy. Why isn’t Premier Rama ordering the arrest of of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri and his extradition to Itali on grounds of drugs trafficking?”

Lulzim Basha also emphasized the fact that for 4 years PD has denounced the Habilaj gang in Vlora city, known as Tahiri’s cousins.

“After months and years of work, Italian police arrested Moisi Habilaj, leader of one of the most dangerous and powerful drug trafficking gangs. He is known as Saimir Tahiri’s cousin, which has served for four years as Albania’s Interior Minister”,
