During a meeting with Austrian Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Linhart, Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha considered the government completely paralyzed due to the country’s situation by revealing its links to international drug trafficking.

The opposition leader told the Deputy Foreign Minister of Austria that from cannabis cultivation in Albania is being trafficked to heroin and cocaine and money laundering in certain areas of the economy such as construction and PPP projects.

The Democratic Party chairman said that the record migration of Albanians to European Union countries is a consequence of the disappointment from the government, which is represented at every level by incriminated and corrupt people.

“European Union cannot ignore this problem, because it is credible”, said Mayor Basha.

The collapse of crime links with politics is a national urgency to stop the march of organized crime in the country’s governing and economy and restore the legitimacy of governance.

Democratic Party believes that the realization of electoral reform, including the electronic voting system, is one of the ways to get out of the crisis and restore trust in people.

DP chairman, Lulzim Basha, thanked Deputy Foreign Minister Linhart for the strong support of Austria and especially of Prime Minister Kurz for the European integration of the Balkans.
