Office of Internal Affairs and Appeals Service in cooperation with the Prosecution, after several months’ investigation, prosecuted 2 police officers at the Elbasan Local Office on charges of abuse of duty.
The outcome of investigation proceedings showed that Police Officers–Inspector F.B., Zonal Police Specialist of Elbasan Police Station, and Inspector K.J., Zonal Police Specialist of Belsh Police Station, blatantly violated the law when allowing the issuance of a biometric passport to citizen A.D. who was sentenced and declared wanted by a court decision.
The Elbasan District Court assigned to the two police officers the personal security measure “Suspension of the exercise of a public service duty” provided for in Article 243 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Investigations continue to reveal whether there are any employees or other structures involved in illegal activity./tvklan.al
