Hours after ruling coalition invited for dialogue, Albanian opposition said it is ready to sit down on the dialogue table “for a caretaker government that would guarantee free and fair elections.”

This means that the Democratic Party led opposition forces do not withdraw from their main condition, which is Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation in favor of a caretaker government.

The Lulzim Basha led opposition said in a statement they are ready for a true dialogue “with ruling coalition’s representatives aimed at creating conditions for free and fair elections, through a government with broad political support that will guarantee:

  1. The full implementation of decriminalization law
  2. Efficient war against drug trafficking, organized crime and drug’s money
  3. Preparation of free and fair elections
  4. The Implementation of judicial reform, according to the constitutional provisions of July 22.”
