UN resolution against US, reacts US Embassy in Tirana

The US Embassy in Tirana reacted with a statement following the UN resolution against the United States, in which Albania was listed on the list of countries that voted against Americans and Israel.

“The President’s statement affirmed the current and historic reality of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The United States accepted the simple truth that Jerusalem is the center of the legislature, the prime minister and the top Israeli court. We will continue to work for peace. A process that we hope will provide the best outcome for both the Israeli and Palestinian people”,

said the US Embassy in Tirana in response to social networks.

The UN General Assembly has adopted on Thursday a resolution calling on the United States to withdraw from its decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The non-binding resolution was adopted by 128 states, 9 voted against and 35 countries abstained. Among the countries that voted against the United States and the pro-UN resolution is Albania./tvklan.al
