President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Joseph Daul has clearly stated that negotiations for Albania will be opened when concrete results are achieved in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.
“Albania’s aspirations for the European Union will only be taken seriously when the rule of law, the independence of justice and the fight against corruption are applied.
Drug crimes in Albania are a major problem that obstructs its EU path. Real efforts must be made to fight these crimes with full transparency”
, wrote Daul in Twitter.
This message from the President of the EPP comes at a time when the political situation has been troubled in Albania because of accusations about MP Saimir Tahiri’s implication in drug trafficking with the Habilaj gang./tvklan.al
