Albania is on the verge of reaching a key degree of integration into the European Union. The European Commission is expected to open the green light for the country’s EU membership negotiations on Tuesday, 17 April.
The recommendation for the opening of the negotiations of Albania is expected to be unconditional, putting emphasis on the progress made at the beginning of the Vetting process as a key point for the Justice Reform, but also the growing Albanian government’s action against drug trafficking as an Albania’s specific problem in the fight against organized crime.
High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security of the European Union, Federica Mogherini will travel to the Balkans to communicate the good news first to Albania, to continue to Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro./tvklan.al
