Six members of Albanian Parliament and three mayors will be forced to give their finger prints to police within five days, as they are alleged to have been sentenced for various criminal offences at the European Union countries before returning to Albania and takeing important positions.

The request was made Monday by the General Prosecution Office.

Part of the six MP list are Socialist Party’s Armando Prenga and Artan Gaci, Party for Justice Integration and Unity’s Aqif Rakipi  and Omer Mamo, Socialist Movement for Integration’s Gledion Rehovica, as well as Mhill Fufi, who was excluded from the Parliamentary group of the Democratic Party.

The General Prosecution Office has requested from the Albanian Central Commission t immediately stop Prega’s mandate.

On the other hand, the Prosecution Office requested the finger prints of Polican, Permet and Pogradec Mayors, two of them were elected from the ruling Socialist Party and the last from the Democratic Party.

Authorities said the finger prints will be sent to the Euro-pol office to compare them with the data European countries have.

They have been allegedly sentenced with other identities, and have changed their names before entering politics in Albania.

Many Albanian MPs and senior figures are accused of holding numerous identities. The Parliament has agreed a law for the decriminalization of politics, making it impossible for those sentenced before to run for public offices. /tvklan.al
