The majority of Albanians think that the corruption increased in the country during the last two years, Transparency International said Wednesday in its latest report.

“The majority of people across the Western Balkans think that corruption increased in the past two years,” the organization said, adding that “In particular, corruption levels are perceived to be especially high in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Albania”.

TIA says that “66 per cent… of those surveyed (in Albania) think that corruption has increased.”

The organization says that creating an effective system for fighting organized crime and corruption is considered fundamental for attaining objectives of countering the criminal infiltrations in political, legal and economic systems.

According to the Corruption Perception Index 2016; Albania ranks 83rd among 176 countries with 39 points, Kosovo ranks 90th with 36 points and Macedonia ranks 90th with 37 points.

Bosnia and Herzegovina ranks 83rd with 39 points, Montenegro 64th with 45 points, Croatia ranks 55th with 49 points and Slovenia ranks 31rd with 61 points./tvklan.al
