During his stay in London, Democratic Party Chairman, Lulzim Basha, had the opportunity to collaborate with the Albanian community there, discussing the current situation in Albania. In response to questions received, Basha also commented on the procedure by which the Laws Commission voted the list of candidates for a provisional Chief Prosecutor.

“This is the end of the Justice Reform, and this is the decisive step in the country’s downturn in the dictatorship. If on December 18, Edi Rama chooses with his vote the Chief Prosecutor, this is the end of the rule of law, the end of democracy and the opposition gives rise to the deserved response”.

The opposition leader stressed that the path to a reformed justice was decided by the agreement of the entire Albanian parliament on 22 July 2016 to the founding state law, the Constitution.

With the Democrats in London, the opposition leader also discussed the further democratization of the Democratic Party, reiterating the promise that future MPs will come under the London Democrats’ procedure with the principle of one member per vote.

Lulzim Basha is in London at the invitation of the British Conservative Party of the Prime Minister Theresa May and attended the conference on “Challenges in the Western Balkans”.
