After parliament dismissed the prosecution’s request for authorization, Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha said it was the first time in political pluralism that the Parliament refuses the Prosecution’s request to lift a MP’s immunity.
Opposition’s leader said that this was the only case in the history of the world that parliament has put more attention on the cases of criminals than to economy and well-being.
“Today this Assembly has set another black record. This is the first time Parliament refuses the Prosecution’s request to lift a Member’s immunity. 24 MPs have so far been deprived of immunity from left and right majority. Today this Assembly has become the stamp of the narcotics Rama-Tahiri, which has two standards for justice, one for Tahiri and one for ordinary citizens,”
said Basha from the Assembly’s seat.
