Focused on criticism for the lack of transparency in talks with Albania, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras blamed the opposition on misrepresentation of Commissioner Johannes Hahn’s statement and the whole set-up for changing borders between the two countries.

From Brussels, where he participated in the NATO summit, the head of the Greek government denied any claim that his government is negotiating re-designation of territories with the Alliance.

“They forced Commissioner Hahn to clarify the statement after rumors that Mr Hahn had spoken of a change of bounds with Albania. They cannot be all liars”.

Tsipras revealed that there are still issues on the negotiating table that have yet to be agreed.

“There has been a great work by the two foreign ministers on a series of issues that have burdened the relations between the two countries for decades. We are very close to a solution to the delimitation of Exclusive Economic Zones, a solution that gives the Greek party great advantages I want to go into detail but open the way for delimitation with other countries. We have positive developments for the Greek soldiers who are buried in the Albanian land and after a few days we will make a ceremony in their honor. The two remaining issues, except the Economic Zone Exclusive, they are the issue of the law of war and borders. Issues which, although we have made progress, we cannot say that are over”
