Former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, resigned as MP and now can be tried by the judiciary without immunity.
“I resign my MP mandate today. Until the whole truth comes out, I will not be a MP, but a simple citizen as over 2 million other Albanians”.
I will confront everyone, because I believe the truth is simpler, but stronger than anything else. As a free citizen, I am confronting anyone, I will not surrender. And today I say, I’m not a clown like those who have governed for 25 years and today they speak of moral values, I am Saimir Tahiri and I do not need even an immunity to face justice and clowns of politics of these 25 years” .
Through his act, Tahiri says he makes the difference between those who have wrongly governed the country in 30 years and continue to be part of the politics without being punished by justice.
Saimir Tahiri is the most long-lasting Interior Minister in the last 28 years and the first for which an official inquiry is launched due to his alleged involvement in drug trafficking./tvklan.al
