In the framework of the official visit to Hungary, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, was received in a special meeting by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, with whom he held a long and very friendly conversation. President Meta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Orbán for the significant and support he has given Albania to the opening of EU membership negotiations.
Appreciating the commitment of Orban’s Government to promote economic and trade relations between the two countries, President Meta underlined the willingness of the Albanian side to establish these relations at the excellent level of political relations. Even in the meeting with Prime Minister Orbán, President Meta expressed the confidence that the resettlement of the direct air line between the capitals of the two countries and the opening of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in Tirana will make this cooperation grow significantly and that after four years Albania and Hungary to celebrate the 100th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with concrete and significant results.
Prime Minister Orban assured President Meta for the continued support of his Government for Albania and Albanians as well as the further strengthening of the historic friendship between the two nations./tvklan.al
